This seminar is a “virtual pre-con”, provided free to conference attendees and FOI’s professional colleagues. It is intended to provide coverage and discussion of an always-critical topic and also to satisfy regulatory and credential renewal requirements.

INSTRUCTOR

Steven Kirby
Steven L. Kirby has been a licensed Private Investigator in Illinois and Wisconsin since 1975 and was also a licensed polygraph examiner in Illinois from 1976 through 2014. During his over 45-year career he has conducted investigations throughout the United States and in several foreign countries. A number of the cases he has been involved in have been featured on such nationwide media outlets as 48 Hours; Dateline; Time Magazine as well as local media in Chicago. Some of Steven’s more noteworthy cases have recently been featured on ABC’s “20-20” and on Netflix.
Steven Kirby was President of Edward R. Kirby & Associates from 1980 to 2014 when he semi-retired from the profession. He is currently of counsel to Kirby and Associates, which has been a well-known agency since it was founded in 1969. Kirby & Associates specializes in fraud investigations; intellectual property matters; complex litigation support; and criminal defense.
Until recently Steven served as the Executive Director of the Council of International Investigators (CII), an organization of more than 400 professional investigators in sixty-seven countries and six continents. Steven is also a member of NCISS and was previously granted the Certified Fraud Examiner credential. Steven was a top-rated presenter at the 2018 FOI Investigators’ SuperConference.
